Downtown Paola is the heart of the community with small-town character, homegrown businesses, and local pride. We are looking toward the future, and we need your help. The City Council has made the Master Plan a 2026 priority and is launching a formal planning effort.
WHAT IS A MASTER PLAN?
A downtown master plan serves as a comprehensive long-term guide outlining a city's vision for the growth and enhancement of its downtown area. This plan incorporates community input to influence various aspects such as land use, infrastructure, public space, streetscape, and beyond.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.
The City published a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a consultant team to help guide this process. Proposals are due March 12th, 2026.

Having a formal guide that outlines a shared vision for the growth and improvement of Downtown is crucial for the district's redevelopment and long-term viability.
